Welcome
That Ilha Grande is a wonderful place, nobody disagrees. Voted second in the choice of the 7 Wonders of Rio, this magnificent island of 193 km2, with mountains higher than two thousand meters, totally covered with forest (Mata Atlantica), with streams that fall from the mountains creating countless waterfalls until they meet the sea and others hundreds of beaches and villages which we cannot define the most beautiful. This giant treasure holds a precious stone, although it doesn’t have the same carats of Lopes Mendes, Praia do Sul or Leste, it is able to make everybody who knows it so delighted, that it really gives us the feeling that we are in paradise.

A place like this could only deserve the name paradise and this is the paradise you are going to visit now and certainly, the next time you come to Ilha Grande, you will not resist staying a few days in one of the most exiting campings in the island – Camping Paraiso...

Camping Paraiso is located in a paradise called Praia Brava de Palmas, in the southeast part of Ilha Grande and it is protected from the open sea by Ponta dos Castelianos and by Palmas Island as a natural dam. A perfect place built to provide leisure and beautiful adventures to the ones who love nature.
Despite the name, Praia Brava is an idyllic beach of transparent water, sometimes green, sometimes blue. An aquarium inhabited by countless magnificent marine species. It is very easy to stay hypnotized all day long floating on a spectacular sunken garden.

In this crazy lethargy you can encounter colonies of brain coral, troops of seahorses, constellations of stars of the sea, turtles, algae of all colors, shoals of many species of fish – striped, silver, red, blue, yellow – and even the frightening and at the same time harmless moreias.
The sunken rocks as well as the ones on top of the water make you feel amazed. In one of them, after winning the challenge of swimming to reach it and climbing it, it is possible to find a ramp where the ones crazy for adventure jump into a six meters deep pool.

Around it there is a mountain covered by forest that embraces the beach as if it was a stage. A stage where many kinds of artists from the forest appear, like squirrels that are usually loitering on the trees and watching from the branches if someone is going to offer them a tidbit.
Suddenly, from the middle of the jungle, you hear frightening screams: ROOOOORRRRR, ROOOOORRRRR!!! RONK, RONK, RORNNNNK!!! This indecipherable language that has made many people run is nothing but a sign that we are close to the territory of a colony of monkeys called bugios.

If the days are spectacular, the nights are galactic... The sky is so starry that we can’t only see the Milky Way, but also other galaxies and nebula. Some even say they have seen a flying sauce during a night when Saturn was so bright that it was possible to see its rings.
When the moon rises, it is such an amazing spectacle that it is easy to think we are facing a new planet. But it is Venus that makes us lie down on the sand that glows when we scratch it with our hands or touch it with our feet, making us feel we are in a magical world where it seems the sky fell to earth and there we stand in awe watching the stars glimmer, the luminescent planktons and fireflies.

That is why in Camping Paraiso the Sun, the Moon and the stars come first…
